National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai organized the Constitution Day Celebration (Samvidhan Diwas Samaroh) online on 26th November 2021. Prof. Shirish Sangle, Dean (Alumni & International Affairs), NITIE read the preamble of the Constitution followed by everyone present on the lawn consisting of Deans, Registrar, Faculty Members, Officers, Staff and Students of the Institute at 3.00 pm.
The programme started with garlanding the statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. On this occasion, the Chief Guest was Adv. (Dr.) Ashok Yende, Former Head, Department of Law & Director, Law Academy, University of Mumbai.
Dr. Basavaraj Swamy, Registrar welcomed the Chief Guest of the function and expressed his views on many points of the Indian constitution. Prof. Shirish Sangle, Dean (Alumni & International Affairs) chaired the function and explained about the various rights given to the citizens in the Indian Constitution.
Adv. (Dr.) Ashok Yende highlighted that the understanding of the Constitution is very important for each citizen of India. He stated that fraternity and rule of law are the heart of the Constitution and the Constitution helps in building the ethos of the nation.
Prof. Shirish Sangle, Dean (Alumni & International Affairs), Prof. Shankar Murthy, Dean (Academic) and Dr. Basavaraj Swamy, Registrar distributed the prizes to the winners of the Constitution Day Essay writing competition.
On this occasion, the NITIE library also organized a display of books related to the Indian Constitution. The programme was conducted by Prof. Neeraj Pandey, Assoc. Professor, NITIE. The function ended with a vote of thanks by Md. Aftab Alam, Hindi Officer, NITIE.
