The 21st ANNUAL CONVOCATION of NITIE was held on a grand scale on 20th September 2015.The lush green campus of National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) came alive with celebrations, as the Institute honoured the graduating class of students at the Annual Convocation ceremony. The event was graced by Chief Guest, The Honourable Minister of State, Dr, R.S. Kathuria. This year, a total of 376 students from the four Post Graduate Programmes of Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Industrial Safety & Environmental Management, and Information Technology Management received their PG Diplomas and 18 students received Fellowship at the hands of Prof.Karuna Jain Director, NITIE in the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest and other eminent dignitaries
Addressing the congregation, Dr. Karuna Jain Director presented a brief report of the Institute. In her report, she highlighted the various achievements during 2014-2015. In his Convocation address, the Chief Guest, Honourable Minister of State Prof. R.S.Kathuria congratulated the graduating students and wished them all the best in their career. The Honourable Minister brought out the role to be played by Professors in moulding students. Emphasising that the real meaning of education remains in learning and changing, he cordially invited the students to shoulder responsibilities in enhancing equity, efficiency, excellence accessibility of higher education. He said that the students can play a vital role in being partner to the manufacturing renaissance of the nation. He appealed to the students to contribute voluntarily in different capacities as an engineer, manager and the trainer in several community programmes that would nurture rural and urban development in the country.
